MATERIALS:
• Petals: made from mugs with Scottish dialect definitions, Eccleshall Parish Church, the bases, Royal Dolton
• Flower centre: fused glass cabochon made from random glass off-cuts and in reds and soft blues
• Leaves and stem: wine bottle glass, hand cut to shape
• Made on: a reclaimed slate place mat, the reverse side has a velvety fabric surface which is a bit scuffed, but has been cleanedPrice shown includes UK P&P
Artisan Process
Working with views over the river Earn and hills beyond, Katy is frequently inspired by this landscape, which is reflected in her mosaics. Flowers in abundance feature in much of her works.
Recycled materials inspire and stimulate many of her ideas, including broken china, where she knows the provenance of each tile, creating a traditional patchwork concept.
