Looking out from Talmine Beach
I have only ever been to Talmine beach once but enough to capture my love of seascapes. It was many years ago, the dramatic sky with windswept waves gave me the inspiration for this painting Talmine is a crofting and fishing township, near the Western shore of Tongue, northern Sutherland.
Wet felted merino wool, bamboo wool sari silks gives this painting interest and depth. Stormy deep blues with contrasting yellow and turquoise. Using bamboo for the waves makes them almost dance in the wind.
