This stoneware is dishwasher, oven, & freezer safe. Stoneware can be safely warmed or heated in the oven. Place stoneware in the oven and allow to heat gradually when the oven is turned on. Stoneware is oven-safe up to 450F. Never place cold stoneware items in a preheated hot oven or on the burner of a gas or electric range, grill or open flame. Rapid temperature changes can cause thermal shock, which means your stoneware bowl has the potential to crack and chip.

Allow your stoneware piece to cool before placing it in the freezer to avoid thermal shock. Hot ceramic items should not be placed directly into the freezer.

This stoneware may be placed in the dishwasher. Load the dishwasher carefully so the pieces do not bump into each other and chip. Use a non-abrasive dishwasher detergent. If cleaning by hand, avoid using abrasives like steel wool or gritty cleansers. If kept in fridge or freezer your stoneware bowl should be brought to room temperature before cleaning to avoid thermal shock.

Kerstin makes functional yet decorative pottery, spanning a broad spectrum of ceramic art.  Kerstin works with clay in a variety of ways from hand building using slabs of clay, molding or slip casting in earthen or stoneware clay.   Kerstin's journey with pottery began in the 1970’s when she started working with clay during a school art lesson and it quickly became my most favoured creative medium.
