Pots have a drainage hole in the bottom and can be used to plant directly into the pot

Artisans Process
Nicolas’s stylish ceramic plant pots are made in a traditional ceramics process called slip casting. The process requires Nicola to first produce her own plaster moulds from wooden originals which she turns on a laithe. Nicola pours liquid earthenware clay into the plaster moulds and allows the clay to set in the mould.
Once released from the mould Nicola applies the coloured slip as the pot is drying. By hand, Nicola scratches the contour lines to reveal the white clay underneath and create the surface illustrations.
The pots are then fired in her kiln before a clear glaze is applied, they are then fired for a second and final time.
As each piece is handmade and illustrated freehand, no two pieces are ever exactly the same.
