Jud Pollock

Jud Pollock is a contemporary ceramic artist creating colourful wheel-thrown tableware that brings character and joy to the everyday. Originally from County Antrim, Northern Ireland, she studied 3D Design, specialising in ceramics, at Manchester Metropolitan University. After travelling and working around the world, she settled in Perthshire and, in 2014, founded her pottery business, Tea with Jud, after purchasing a second-hand potter’s wheel.

From her workshop on the banks of the River Ericht, Jud produces a collection of handmade mugs, bowls, jugs, plates, vases and other domestic wares. Working alongside her studio companions, Albert the dog and Myrtle the cat, she creates pieces that can be mixed and matched to build a personalised collection. Her work combines skilled craftsmanship with an original cheerful and warm style.

Aesthetic

Jud’s work is characterised by a vibrant palette of bright, joyful glazes inspired by the colours, patterns and energy found in the natural world. Her ceramics are created with functionality in mind, each piece balances form and function, pairing the tactile qualities of clay with a bold, uplifting visual design.
