Inspired by rainy days. This mug is made with liquified stoneware clay. A technique the French call “Coulee en barbotine” or slip casting as it is more commonly known.

Stoneware may be placed in the dishwasher. Load the dishwasher carefully so the pieces do not bump into each other and chip. Use a non-abrasive dishwasher detergent. If cleaning by hand, avoid using abrasives like steel wool or gritty cleansers.

Kerstin works with clay in a variety of ways from hand building using slabs of clay, molding or slip casting in earthen or stoneware clay. Kerstin's journey with pottery began in the 1970’s when she started working with clay during a school art lesson and it quickly became my most favoured creative medium.
