Segmented Vase
This Walnut vase is made from locally sourced Scottish Walnut.
Over a hundred individual pieces were cut and assembled before it was shaped. The surface was then textured and painted as an homage to my love of the fascinating textures I've come across in some pottery pieces, while retaining clear views of the natural wood and craftsmanship.
Perfect for dried flowers or on its own as a statement piece. Not suitable for use with fresh flowers.

Artisan Process
Chris combines traditional and modern techniques, working primarily with locally sourced wood, often windfallen when available. He uses carving and painting to add texture and colour, sometimes guided by the wood’s natural features, other times by a defined design or purpose.
