UFOak
Inspired by classic Sci Fi shapes, this hollow form is made from Oak sourced in Perthshire.
The top surface shows a wonderful example of feathering, which comes from the grain found between two branches. The interior is painted with a subtle colourful swirl and the lid is made from local Walnut, It also has a thin inlaid ring of Walnut in the middle, separating the two halves.

Artisan Process
Chris combines traditional and modern techniques, working primarily with locally sourced wood, often windfallen when available. He uses carving and painting to add texture and colour, sometimes guided by the wood’s natural features, other times by a defined design or purpose.
