Wabi Sabi
Mounted handmade book presenting the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi Sabi where everything in nature and life is imperfect, impermanent or incomplete, connecting with the natural world and flowing against the tide of modern perfectionism and the acceptance of transient objects.
The book is made with a variety of papers including the artist's own handmade paper and Washi (Japanese paper).
Wabi Sabi is a cultural understanding and whilst there is no direct western translation it is often used in the western world to describe seeing the beauty in the aging or decay of items or decor.
This item is very fragile with a fine jute cord to hold specific pages open. Over time the book may experience some aging which is intentional to respect the Wabi Sabi aesthetic.
