‘AWAKEN’ runs until Friday 7 June, so still time to get there over the coming week and enjoy their work, as well as a visit to the lovely town of Aberfeldy or a walk around the Birks.

As Perthshire based artists, who happen to be friends, the artworks Libby and Cathy have featuring in 'AWAKEN' are also connected through the concept of awakening, through either a tumultuous storm, the vastness of nature touching us in a soul deep way or changes wrought by chaos.

Libby's work captures the drama of the remote Scottish landscape. She is drawn to the relationship between the weather and the land. Drawing and painting out in the wilds of the landscape is where she feels alive, in the moment expressing her feelings of connection with the energy, the environment and the drama of the atmosphere.

Cathy finds being in the landscape is a synonym of freedom. The beauty of the ever-changing light, the spirit of a place and awe of the natural world are constant inspiration. She focuses on light and space so that her paintings give you a sense of freedom and being in the wide-open space. Cathy’s work is a contemporary interpretation of light, capturing a sense of scale, the vastness and beauty of the natural world.

Una Galbraith's kiln-formed glass art explores subjects relating to psychology, nature and conservation, and her work showing in the Awaken collection aims to celebrate resilience, hope and optimism.
