Perthshire Artisans are delighted to once again collaborate with artists and makers based at Perth Creative Exchange for a superb market and open studios event, a great Spring day out to enjoy!
Open Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 May, 10-4pm, there's plenty to discover, including 18 professional creative market stalls PLUS a variety of artists' studios open to have a look round! Chat with the professional creatives behind the all the work on show and purchase beautiful items from the artists themselves. You can bombard them with questions, discover some artistic techniques, and catch some demonstrations such as print-making and pottery throwing. (And if you were a pupil or teacher at this former St John's Primary School, you might want to see what the place looks like now!)
Several of the Perthshire Artisans are taking part, including ceramicist Ceri White whose studio is at Perth Creative Exchange. In addition to seeing her colourful pieces and be tempted to buy in person, Ceri will also be demonstrating some of her making techniques.

The Artisans relish the opportunity to meet in person, enjoying the conversations and chat from explaining their process to feedback on their work, and even being inspired to try making new products. As willow weaver Rachel Kirk says: It’s lovely to go to a market and meet lots of people. I never know when a conversation will spark a creative idea and it’s good to get feedback on the work I’ve been doing. It can get a bit lonely in the studio so a craft market is a great chance to connect with customers and chat to other creatives which gives a real sense of community."

In addition you can also enjoy some culinary creativity at the pop-up cafe, where you can relax with a coffee, tea and delicious cake to keep up the energy levels!
The Creative Spring Market & Open Studios event is on 25/26 May, open from 10am-4pm at the Perth Creative Exchange on Stormont Street, PH1 5NW. It's free entry, dogs and kiddies welcome, some disabled access. It's on the same weekend as the Perth Festival of Arts event, ARTAY.
