New 'Scottish Wool Producers Showcase' coming to Perth

A brand new event from Perth Festival of Yarn, the Scottish Wool Producers Showcase is coming to Perth on Saturday 2 April. The showcase event seeks to shine a spotlight on yarns with a distinctly Scottish origin and their makers. Featuring a boutique marketplace celebrating Scotland’s single farm yarns, shepherds, mills, and more, as well as inspiring presentations.

Event Director, Eva Christie, says "our new bespoke event proudly focuses on those farmers and makers who put their all into producing textiles that are are steeped in heritage, in tune with our natural environment, and support a more mindful way of living and clothing ourselves. From wool from the Shetland Isles, Iona, and even some spun locally just down the road in Kinross, the Scottish Wool Producers Showcase is a must attend event for anyone with an interest in knitting, crochet, spinning, or weaving with complete traceability."

Presentations will be delivered by shepherdess of the Koru Lammermuir Flock, Suzie Vestri, who oversees every aspect of her Shetland sheeps welfare in the peaceful hills of East Lothian; and Sara Wolf, Massachusetts-based former museum and textile curator turned native sheep breed researcher. The Scottish Wool Producers Showcase takes place at the Station Hotel, Perth, on 2 April between 12pm - 6pm and the full programme and how to purchase tickets can be found on https://perthfestivalofyarn.uk/scottish-wool-producers-showcase Tickets are only available in advance and online until 31 March.
