Riot Stone

Riot Stone

A quick glance at this stone might suggest to you that it was a battle stone of the type that the Picts carved when they celebrated a victory in arms. Sueno's Stone, Aberlemno Church Stone and the Dunkeld Cathedral Stone come to mind. However closer inspection reveals that the 'infantry' are men, women and children. They bear placards as their weapons and mobile phones as their shields. The 'cavalry' are in contemporary state riot gear.

Riots and protests tend not to be memorialised - probably because nobody tends to come out of them very well, making this a unique piece.

A unique sculpture and a perfect gift for anyone who likes things to stay they are - or anyone who wants things to change.
