Black Sunburst Vase

This wheel-thrown earthenware vase is perfect for displaying fresh posies or dried flowers and adds a little retro drama to the home. Like all Ceri's ceramics, it is an individually decorated piece with an emphasis on freehand pattern and mark-making. The piece has been covered in a layer of black liquid clay at the raw stage, with lines scratched in and dots piped on. After firing it has been glazed in a clear glaze with highlights of yellow and orange before firing again.
